I Learnt A Valuable Lesson Today

Last night I did my usual of being ready to go at my set time and then getting side tracked by another brilliant product that could make me money email.
With eager anticipation I clicked it open to find a guaranteed way to make quick money and all for $7. Great that's less than a fiver my illogical brain told me and off I went ordering this so called brilliant idea. Even as I was doing it I actually said out loud "here you go again Nick". So I opened my product to find it was made in 2008 and the first video stopped after half way and the downloaded zip file was corrupted.
What was I thinking. So I've written to them and we'll see where we get.
However a good thing to come from this is I set up a mini email campaign and I began watching the videos from the course I actually started on. Lo and behold I learnt loads of info. I realised some how I had become so obsessed I had moved away from all of the video learning systems available through this course.
So I'm back on track, for today any way, and determined to stick with what I have and take small steps to get my goals.
I just wish I could stop having all these ideas and not enough time.
It's great to be really at something and fill my days with progress and difference. I genuienly get a real buzz from the ups and downs and know that if I just keep pressing forward I'll get htere. Wherever there may be.

Take care

Inspirational - The Light Bulb Moment

Hi

So I've just finished my property training weekend with Progressive Properties. Thanks to all those involved I met a lot of great people and got some great ideas and strategies, not just about property but also about Internet Marketing so a double wammy for me.

One thing I really did notice was about me. You see there was a lot of networking going on and I got to speak to a load of people. What I noticed about me was I'm not afraid to share my dreams, in fact when I told people my goal was to be financially free within 3 years through property and Internet Marketing people told me how impressed they were with that.

And as I spend more time saying this I can feel it becoming a reality rather than just an idea. You know an idea will always be an idea until you have a conversation about it. When you have a conversation about it, it then becomes word and spoken and real. It feels good to say it out loud.

I also found there were a load of people who are worse at procrastinating than I am. They have an intention but you can tell this is all it will ever be.

I met a lady who is a property coach and will be speaking to her in the future and here's spooky but I met someone who can get me on a course I have wanted to do for ages at about a third of the price I thought I would have to pay, so the networking was great.

If you were there I wish you every succes and now is the time for ACTION.

Business Mindset - Lessons From A Guru

Hi

Well I'm just on my way home from the Progressive Property Weekend. I'm having a great time learning more strategies and getting a dose of positivity and motivation.

I've also had the pleasure of listening to the James Caan. And I've learnt a really valuable lesson today. I've realised I don't think like a business person. I don't look at my figures properly and I don't check to see if the money I can make from a product matches what I'm spending out. Basic you would think but somewhere along the line I haven't made time to sit and go through some very important stuff.

So it was good to get a kick up the backside.

However, I have taken myself out of my comfort zone and I have spoken to other people and learnt things from them. I also really really don't want to become one of those people who just goes on courses. I need to take action and keep taking action.

The habits I form today will be what keeps me going in the future and move me closer towards my goal.

Looking forward to tomorrow

What Am I Doing

Hi

Well it's been a while since I last wrote on this blog. As much as I would love to say I have made my fortune I haven't although I can safely say my life is much richer and fuller than it's ever been. I know where I am in my life and probably more importantly I know who I am.

I think about my goals more each day and appreciate all I have. I understand people more and when I am being inauthentic around my personal perceptions. I have also moved far away from negativity and the cynicism that seems to dog mankind. For example people just love to find a reason why things will fail. It's never their fault and they relish the fact they fail so they can say " you see I told you I would fail". In fact the word fail is so negative let's change it to not being successful.

It takes hard work and above all determination to succeed. It takes commitment and most of all it takes failure to finally stand on the podium of success. It takes the burial of the "p" word and realising you have a purpose and a right to success.

I totally 10% believe and committed to success. To sharing my new found knowledge and freedom with others and making others understand there is another way. How..........mmmmm. a question I know still needs the final answer.

So here is my goal for this week. I will make a sale this week. I am totally dedicated to that goal. I will do this by marketin gmy site to the plan I have written out with the aim of being on the front page for the keywords Turbulence Training.

So here it is in black and white and so I have to achieve.

When You Think It's Time To Quit

Hi

I'm writing today as I've struggled to get going and get motivated. I've begun to let the sneaky voice get in the way of my thoughts. It keeps telling me my life is comfortable, I live well, I have lots of things others don't have, I can retire in 8 years and be comfortable. It also is great at telling me how tired I am and I really can just out my feet up and watch the trash on TV. No one would mind, no one would think anything less of you.

And then I can't focus, I get side tracked by other offers, I become distracted and waste my time looking at new ideas. You see it came to me this weekend to stop looking at other things and actually concentrate on the one site which is beginning to get traffic, in fact I've had over 1,500 visitors now to my site, something I never thought was possible and I've earned a small amount of cash. But I am struggling with my procrastination and I even see my friends wondering what on earth I'm doing.

So I made myself switch on the computer and I made myself type this because I know one day I will use this when I'm telling people about my journey, when I can relate to their stories of how hard they have found it to concentrate and achieve their desire. I can't even tell you why but I know I will achieve because I desire a different way of life. Whether you or anyone else understands that it doesnt' matter but it's my goal, my dream, my life.

Sometimes the universe will give you back what you give and as I logged onto my email I received a quote from Napolean Hill;

'The principle of concentration is the medium by which procrastination is overcome. The same principle is the foundation upon which both self-confidence and self-esteem are predicted.'Just a coincidence?, I'll let you know.

How To Change Your Problems With One Word

Hi

I just wanted to share this with you and hopefully you will find it as useful as I did. I am currently half way through a Landmark Education course and one of the things I am learning, that is making a difference to the way I view things, is how changing a word in a sentence can change the meaning of the sentence and make it more achievable.

Let me show you what I mean. Take a problem you have at the moment and use the word BUT in the sentence. Mine is "I want my on line business to take off BUT I don't know how". Change the word BUT to AND . So " I want my on line business to take off AND I don't know how". This now changes the sentence. The sentence with BUT places an obstacle and isn't related to the first part but changing the BUT to AND makes the not knowing how a part of the first bit of the sentence making it feel like you can overcome it.

AND I don't know how is just a matter of fact which can be overcome. So the next part is working out how to overcome the not knowing how and getting on with getting the on line business to take off.

For example not knowing how can be changed by educating yourself. Now you have a solution, yes you have to educate yourself but that is possible.

If you practice with a problem of your own and say it out loud you should be able to feel the difference.

I hope you found this useful.

How Not To Be An Entrepreneur

Morning

Well it's 0820hrs and I am just on my way to my advanced Landmark Education course. For me this is brilliant I loved the first one and it made a big difference in my life. It is both challenging and rewarding but I believe is making me a better person.

Any how I just wanted to share with you about my first experience of trying to be an entrpreneur. I have an information product I know is good and works and will help people. I have read and hopefully understood about marketing strategies and spent time writing my web ad. I have decided to test it locally and contacted my local paper and spoke to a really helpful lady and placed the ad for 4 weeks.

Brilliant, I thought this week I will be up and running ready to get my orders out and start understanding how this all worked. I have my analytics all set up to monitor visitors and purchasers and I think I understand the importance of testing and constant analysing.

So feeling very proud of myself I have been waiting for my local paper to arrive to view my master piece in glorious writing. The paper rang me yesterday; " hi we are just placing your ad onto our website but the link does not appear to work" . Confused I asked to clarify the web address and in a flash there was the problem ".com". Yep my address is ".co".uk. There was a big Homer Simpson DOH on my part and a wasted weeks advertising.

Thankfully they had checked and the web ad is good to go on their web site and will be fine for next week.

Lessons learnt? Oh yes. Check, check and check again.

Have a great Satruday I know I will

The Beauty of Technology

Hi

Well the beauty of technology means I am able to write this whilst walking round Bushey Park as Sash checks out a dog called Rosie. For those of you that do read this I apologise for the lack of posts. It's all just been a bit chaotic......yes I know this is a rubbish excuse.

So it's nearly February 2010 and I've been doing this for a good 6 months now. I would like to tell you I have made my fortune left my job and traveled the world but I haven't. Am I ready to give it all up? No way. I might not be earning an extra crust but I have learnt a lot. Not just about the world wide web but about me as well. I've learnt things take time, I have more patience than I realised and also that perseverance is a must when trying to make a go of it all.

This year I intend to invest time and money into my own education and not to let opportunities pass me by. I intend to take more action and procrastinate less and use technology to my advantage. Don't get me wrong there are times when I think maybe the life I have is pretty good already and maybe this is my lot......although to be honest those thoughts are few and far between now. Generally my motivation is high and I notice my thoughts and language have changed to "when" and not "if".

I know 2010 is going to be a great year and I know this week will be a great week. I have a self development weekend to look forward to and a 10 week course in "thinking outside the box" starting on Wednesday.

I hope you all have a great week as well ,

The 5 Main Barriers to Success

Hi

So we're coming up to the end of January and how many of you are still sticking to your New Year resolutions?

Brilliant if you are but statistics indicate resolutions will be broken fairly quickly and most people by the end of the year have forgotten their resolutions.

So what is it that stops us achieving. This isn't just about New Year but in life in general. What are the things that really stop us achieving our goals. This is the same whether it's a new business, losing weight, fitness goals or just doing the things you really want to do.

The next 5 headings are the most common reasons why people are not successful in the areas of life they want to be. Commonly known as excuses. We are brilliant at making excuses for ourselves and justifying within our own minds why we are not successful.

I haven't got time:

This has to be the most common excuse I hear and the one my mind tricks me into believing as well.

This is the best way we like to talk ourselves out of things. "I can't set up my own business as I work every day and by the time I get home I'm too tired", or "the kids need me I don't have time". I want you to have a look at the successful people in life. The ones who started their own business despite their families, the ones who worked 9-5 but wanted more from life, the successful athletes or footballers who found the time to train. These people never sat down after a day in the office or a day with the kids and said "I don't have time". They made time. They set themselves a weekly plan and spent some time, wherever they could, to achieve their goals.

A great example is those who run the marathon. This involves a heck of a lot of time to train. You know what your overall goal is so you break this down into smaller weekly goals and then daily goals. Write this down and then each day stick to it. Get up an hour earlier, run to to work, run at lunch, run home. You do have the time.

You can use this plan for everything you want in life. Setting up your own business, you know what you want to do, you break that down into years, months, weeks and then days and each day you do what you need to. By doing this your goal becomes more manageable and achievable.

Procrastination

My favorite. This is the one thing I know I battle with. Commonly known as thinking, then thinking some more, then a bit more "oh I need a bit more time to think". Before you know it you've thought about it so long it's gone. The opportunity has passed you by and you carried on as normal wishing you could change your life.

Thoughts are great, positive thoughts are brilliant but without any action you will never change. You will never achieve those goals you want and you will always be left with the wondering.

Listening To Others

Most people's natural disposition, especially here in the UK, is one of being cautious. We don't want to be scammed and we don't want to look foolish. We trust no one unless we know everything about them and then we will always find the expert who knew a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who said never to do that. We spend so much time looking for the negative we won't trust those who have clearly been successful. We're told it won't work so we believe it.

Why? Because it's easier to stay in the comfort zone of all we have ever known. We like to be comfortable and we like to hear what fits into our knowledge group. For example those who are not property experts will tell you now is a terrible time to buy as the market is so flat. Those who have actually made money from property will say now is the best time to buy because of this very reason, but because our peers and families are those who are not property experts and we don't personally know a successful property expert we go with the people we are comfortable with.

The best bit about this is we will then actively seek out a story to justify our decision. We' ll read the papers about someone who lost a fortune in property and sit back smugly on our chairs and go "see I knew I was right".

Look at those who achieve. Did Richard Branson ever listen to those who said that won't work.

I Haven't Got The Money.

If you want something badly enough you will find the money. If you have desire you will find a way. If you're staring a new business maybe it will take some time to actually get financing but you will if you keep trying.

If you don't start because you haven't got the money you never will. There are many ways to find finances, there are avenues open to everyone from clearing our the unused stuff in your garage and selling it on eBay. You have to actually do something otherwise you will never actually move towards your goal.

Giving Up

How many of us have started something and then given up when we didn't succeed quickly. We all want a quick fix, an easy way to get fit, a fast plan to lose weight but then give it all up if we don't see an instant result. Perseverance and desire is an absolute to achieving. With success you will encounter failure but once over come failure will lead to success.

You are the only one who will stop you achieving.

Wishing you every success

Living In The Moment

Hi

So it's a week to Christmas day and for the first time in years I'm actually prepared! Now for those of you who know me you will understand this as I used to be a bit of a Christmas week last minute rush fanatic.

Circumstances this year.....working near Putney High St.......have allowed me to be a little more prepared. In fact as of today I am ready, OK not quite wrapped but ready. I'm looking forward to a day with my family and especially my 4 year old niece.

Last weekend I attended a course, a course about life and living in the moment. Now to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect and I hadn't intended by any stretch of the imagination to get a "life changing" experience from this course. But I have. Now I'm not necessarily the worlds best at explaining myself but I can honestly say I have found an inner peace, a new sense of worth and I know I am going to be successful.

It's funny but when you start speaking these things and sharing what you want to achieve then things start to happen for no apparent reason, coincidence, the cynics amongst us will say yes, but me I see this as opportunities not to be missed.

You see we can all spend our lives blaming things on others, blaming our parents for not doing the job we expected, blaming past relationships for the future ones we fail in or blaming anyone but us for the things we perceive are happening. It's easy to walk past something which needs changing, to not stretch out a hand to a stranger in the street or to bury our heads in the sand rather than have a conversation which needs to be had or saying words which need to be said

I know I am on a journey, but now I know that every aspect of this journey I can create by living in each and every moment. Now this might seem a bit weird but if you stop and really think about this, look at what great philosophers of our time have preached, you all know the sayings, "Life is what you make it", "yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future and now is your actual life", you can see this is not new and has been practiced for years.

So that's what I've started to do and it takes some work I can tell you. But, in doing so, I have come to appreciate the things I have and come to realise that by living like this I can take complete control of who I am and what I want to become. I am creating the possibility of being anything I want.

I also understand fully about integrity and taking responsibility for the things which may not have gone right and putting those things right. Making the past complete to move forward. An example, my dad is an alcoholic and I have let my anger and resentment towards him affect our relationship. I have now spoken to him about this and told him I do love him, I don't always understand him being this way but it does not mean he doesn't love me, I made that bit up in my mind to justify my anger towards him.

I hope that makes sense and if it doesn't you just have to trust me it does work.

The other important thing in life is people are their word as this is all we have to give and if we don't have our word, we don't have our integrity. Wow I feel like a preacher, I'm not I just think this is important and it has helped me to understand what and why things are important.

I hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New Year and will write again in 2010(unless I feel the need to share something else with my blog!)

Take care

Nicky
